Visit to Kgatla Village

Last Friday we went to Kgatla Village, located in a rural area a couple of hours from Polokwane (the last 20 minutes off road).

It was an unbelievable experience.
Between 100 and 200 children were extremely excited about our visit.

They were initially attracted by our cameras and were constantly asking to see the just taken picture.

The above are only a couple out of hundreds of pictures we took.

We were then hosted within the school and the entire community was there, in front of us.

Our team was able to collect for them skirts, trousers/shorts, shirts, pair of shoes, pair of socks, dictionaries, clothing (baby, children, adult), food, baby formula, toys, candy, school books, soap, tooth paste, toothbrushes, sports equipments, arts and craft materials.
The distribution of those goods has been one of the most touching experience I have even lived.

At the end of the day we were physically exhausted, but beaming with joy.
And what I will never forget are these eyes ...

... and these smiles.
